Temporary Practice Relocation

Please note that from Monday the 12th of October 2020 the practice will be temporarily relocating due to the upcoming demolition of Mocha Parade and the subsequent development of a new Health Centre which will be built on the site of the existing Mocha Parade.

The practice will be relocating for a period of approximately 14 months while the new Health Centre is built, and our temporary practice will be located at the Willow Tree Healthy Living Centre which is located at 94 Littleton Rd, Salford, M7 3SE

This is only a temporary relocation and will be followed by the practice moving to a modern purpose built Health Centre which will bring significant benefits to our patients and staff with extra facilities and services being delivered from the new building, as part of the wider development and investment in Lower Broughton.

We are a small friendly practice, with most of our patients being registered with us for many years, over this time we have developed a very personal and caring service which we plan to continue to deliver from the new Health Centre, keeping that close and friendly atmosphere but from a fantastic new building, and we look forward to continuing to provide care for you now and in the future.

There are a lot of questions that we know you will have about this move, and therefore we have listed a number of common questions and answers on the second page – if your query is not answered then please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this further with you.

You can contact us by phone, email (mocha.parade@nhs.net) or by completing the Contact the Practice form.

Questions and answers

  • Will the practice be moving away from Lower Broughton permanently?
    • No – this is a temporary relocation while the new health centre is being built, the practice has a long history in Lower Broughton, and this will continue in the new purpose built building on the site of the existing Mocha Parade which is expected to take approximately 14 months to complete.
  • Will the phone number for the practice change?
    • No – our existing number (0161 839 2721) will remain the same.
  • Will the appointments system remain the same?
    • Yes – we plan to deliver the same service as we do at Mocha Parade, the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a lot more problems being dealt with over the phone or by video consultation, so in these instances there will be no change at all, however if you wish to be seen in a face to face appointment by the GP or Nurse, you will be given an appointment at the Willow Tree building on Littleton Road which is a modern and spacious healthcare facility.
  • What about patients who may struggle to get to the Willow Tree building?
    • For patients who have difficulty in getting to the new location because of mobility issues, the practice will be able to arrange free transport to and from your appointment – please note this will only be available for patients with particular difficulties, please get in touch with us if you have any worries or concerns in this area.
  • Will I still be seen by the same GPs & Nurse, and be able to speak to the same administration team as I do now at Mocha Parade?
    • Yes – all of the existing team from Mocha Parade will be working at the Willow Tree, there will not be any changes in who you contact or see at the practice.
  • How will the temporary practice move affect how I order and receive my monthly medication?
    • The temporary practice move will not have any effect on how you order and receive your medication – you can still use your existing methods to order your medication (online or by telephone) and the prescription will continue to be sent electronically to your existing local pharmacy. We would recommend that you register for online services so you can order your medication through the MyGP app – if you would like help with this, please get in contact and we will be happy to help

If there are any other questions you have regarding the relocation please get in touch with us and we will be happy to discuss this further with you.

The practice is determined that the temporary relocation will cause as little disruption to our patients as possible. The new health centre on Mocha Parade will be a fantastic modern healthcare building and it is an important step in future of the practice, enabling us to improve our care to you.

We look forward to continuing to care for you over the coming years.

Yours sincerely,
Mocha Parade Medical Practice
